Of interest this week (at least to me)
A wonderful Christian Painter/Artist we met this past week. Support her if you can. I especially love the one of the guitarist… and coffee themed ones… and…

And this video featuring the iconic comedian & actor, Bob Newhart is one of my favorites…
Resources you can use
a tremendously useful site that includes scripture in various versions, commentaries on the scriptures, email devotionals you can subscribe to, and articles on various biblical topics. If you’re looking for bible-related stuff on the internet, Bible Gateway is a great place to start.
What I’m reading
https://www.stephenlawhead.com/pendragon is where you can find “The Pendragon Cycle” – a series of fictional books penned by Stephen Lawhead, whose previous series based on Robin Hood is what brought him to my attention. I’m currently on the 2nd book in the Pendragon series, “Merlin.”
In case you don’t know, these are loosely based on the legend of King Arthur, Merlin, and his whole thing.
It’s been a LOOOONNNGGG time since I’ve made time to read fiction, and Lawhead is a terrific writer. His descriptions and approaches to creating a fiction are believable and elegant. There’s not a hint of anything being “contrived” for the sake of being fancy (like some authors feel, to me).
You’ll have to wade through a bunch of old, pagan religious sentiments true of the period in which he’s writing and become accustomed to Lawhead’s way of congealing those with his own Christian beliefs (which Merlin has adopted in this rendition).Β
All that said, I recommend the series so far.
What I’m listening to (podcasts, usually)
https://dougwils.com/audio/plodcast – I never miss an episode.Β Though I don’t agree with everything Doug shares, he’s an astute student of history, society, politics, and more β and he loves Jesus.
